Ciara Murphy (daughter of Kieran and Ursula, Rathfriland Road) was selected to represent Ireland/UK Camogie in the International Shinty game against a Scotland International Shinty team in Inverness at the end of October 2011. Ciara has represented the British University Squad in Compromise Rules on two occasions but will now join 17 Club/County players from all over Ireland who have been picked to play in this international. Ciara is one of three University-based players who have been picked for the squad (along with Cathy Convery and Clodagh McPeak both from Derry.
Ciara plays for Liverpool Universities Camogie and has an All Britain title and two British University All Stars to her name and with the stature of Camogie in Britain now, this is a major honour. We are proud of you Ciara!
