Ceardlann CLG agus an Ghaeilge / GAA and Irish Language workshop
On Thursday, 8th February CnaG Boirche Íochtar held a workshop with Clonduff GAC, represented by Irish Language Officer Brian Ó Ceannubhán (l) and An Ríocht GAA on the different funding streams available to them to promote the Irish Language within their clubs.
We discussed the Glór na nGael and GAA Official funding and recognition scheme for clubs – The Joe McDonagh Foundation, looked at what Newry, Mourne and Down District Council currently have available in their current round of funding and discussed the grants available by Community Foundation for Northern Ireland throughout the year.
Our Irish Language Development Officer Ruairí did a presentation on 
how these organisations can support the implementation and promotion of the language in many different ways and how the GAA clubs can strengthen links with their local schools and community in the process. We also discussed what support we can offer the GAA clubs internally and work together to achieve shared goals.
