IT’S NEVER TOO LATE – FUN DAY 2016

It should have happened in July but the weather decided otherwise. It did happen on Sunday 21st August! There was Hurling and Football Championship games for Clonduff teams but time was running out before school re-started!
There were four teams participating – Yellas, Reds, Greens, Blues and competition was fierce – Ross Carr acted as MC and kept the ‘reins’ on the competitors as they fought their way through ‘Hungry Hippos’, ‘Minefield’, ‘Jigsaw’, ‘Sack Attack’, ‘Wet Rounders’, ‘Pass the Balloon’ and ‘Clonduff Krypton Factor’ – Many thanks to Dermot, Maria and Attracta for the novel and innovative games. The Red team, led by Jerome Lynch and Paul O’Hare amassed the most points during the afternoon and were presented with the Cup by Dermot and Attracta, but in truth, despite the rain, they were all winners – the spectators had moved into the club in case a wee bit of rain would wet them but not those taking part! Well done everybody! REMEMBER THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD WEATHER – ONLY INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHING!!!!!
Meantime, Stephen Rafferty was setting up his music for the intergenerational Tea Dance – before Francis Quinn’s cow was let loose on the pitch for the ‘Cowpatition’ – where would she do her ‘business’ and who would be the lucky winner of the £1,000? After a couple of false starts she eventually performed and the calculation were done it was deemed the Kitty Fegan was the lucky winner! Enjoy every penny of it Kitty.
Then it was back into the club to continue with the music/dancing and the evening ended with all those present enjoying the food on offer!
All in all, this was a great Clonduff Day!
