This is the second year Down Youth Committee have organised a day out in Croke Park for U12 club members. The big day for Colleen Brannigan and Callan Branagan in 2011 is on Monday 18th July.
Colleen’s and Callan’s names were drawn out of the hat.
It will be an early start for Colleen and Callan. The bus will leave Castlewellan (the only pick up / drop off point) at 7am sharp in order to be ready to take the field in Croke Park at 9am.
Children will travel in club colours (tracksuits, hoodies etc) and wear their full club playing strip whilst taking part on the field. They will be playing both Football and Hurling / Camogie and they will taken on a tour of the stadium.
Afterwards, the bus will depart Croke Park Stadium at 12.30pm / 1pm returning straight to Castlewellan where parents will collect their children.
Parents and other family members can make their own way to Croke Park where they will be accommodated in the Cusack Stand.
Colleen, daughter of John and Rosemary, is a member of the newly-formed U12 Ladies Football team but played regularly for the the U10s which is a mixed team. Callan plays for U12 Boys and is son of Lee and Carleen.
