A great night in the Club on Friday 14th November when not only players and their parents turned out but also a large number of current and past players and supporters to welcome the Special Guests of Honour – Darragh Ó Sé, Danny Hughes, Fionnuala Carr and Orla Maginn – and congratulate the Clonduff youngsters on their achievements throughout the year.
The evening started with burgers and hot dogs, prepared by Seamus and Angela McAteer of the Boulevard and served by the mentors following which the guests were introduced by Assistant Youth Officer Shereen Lyness-Feehan – Fionnuala on behalf of herself and Orla addressed the boys and girls and spoke of the importance of committing to training and listening to their mentors; Danny and Darragh, in their addresses echoed these sentiments and all four guests received a massive round of applause. Shereen and her Co-Assistant Youth Officer Patricia Brown introduced the team and individual award winners.

In concluding the evening formal proceedings, Chairman Brendan Murray thanked Darragh, Danny, Orla and Fionnuala – he commented on all of them giving up their time, Darragh’s long journey from Kerry, and he congratulated the two girls on the award of their ‘Soaring Stars’ which will be presented on Saturday night (5th November). He thanked all the children, parents, mentors, and other local people who attended; he also thanked Seamus and Angela for the food, Shereen and Patricia for keeping the proceedings running; Alistair for the PowerPoint Presentation and Ross for organising the attendance of Darragh and Danny. The guests then happily posed with children and family members for that special photograph for the family album.
