On Sunday 19th July 2009 at the Ulster Final, All Ireland winning captains from Ulster teams took centre stage when they were honoured. It was appropriate that the first man to bring Sam across the border was one such man in this historic year of the GAA and the 50th anniversary of Down’s first Ulster title. Down Scór Competitors entertain at Captains Banquet
After all the excitement and formalities had taken place in Clones on Sunday all the honoured captains were invited back to a banquet in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan, where Down Scór competitors Stephen, Sean and Mary Catherine Murray from the Clonduff Club along with Killyclogher Ballad Group had the honour and privilege of being present to entertain at the after-match dinner. The talented trio are no strangers to this scene having previously played on several match days in Pairc Esler, Newry. This was a great opportunity to display all that is good for Scór and another great occasion to record, in what all ready has been a great year in this County as we celebrated our 40th Anniversary in Scór. Well done to all three musicians.
