In glorious sunshine on Sunday morning both U12 football teams headed to Longstone to play for the Ambrose Rodgers trophy.
With the B team in a group with An Riocht, Longstone and Rostrevor A teams it was always going to prove difficult but these lads gave a serious account of themselves by drawing with longstone and a very narrow defeat to Longstone. Another defeat to Rostrevor left them without a win and automatically through to the plate where they came up against a strong Tir na nog side in the final who beat them by 4 points. The A team had very comfortable wins over Bryansford, Attical, Kilcoo and Tir na nog in the group stages and setup a semi-final with Longstone! This was a great game for Clonduff who really turned up the heat and looked like only one prize was on their minds. They met Rostrevor in the final where they ran out very comfortable winners!!
Runner’s up in the Plate were Daniel Gribben, Jimmy Haughey, Lorcan Binks, Lorcan Matthews, Cian McConville, Sean McGreevy, Mairtin McCusker, Caolan McClean, Jonjo Woods, Daniel Devlin.
