All-Ireland Champions 1960 and 1961: The Diamond Jubilee Celebration
To mark 60 years since the team in red and black successfully defended their All-Ireland title, Down GAA honoured the men of 1960 and 61 at a special lunch event in the Slieve Donard Hotel Newcastle on Wednesday 27th October 2021.
Unfortunately the Coronavirus Pandemic prevented the celebration of the historic win of 1960.
History-making captain in 1960 was Clonduff’s Kevin Mussen was among those who attended the event.

The other Clonduff man on the team was the late Patsy O’Hagan who was represented at the event by his niece Marie Milligan (nee O’Hagan).
It was a privilege to be in such illustrious company!
