Cultural, Social and Community

  • Clonduff picked up three South Down titles in Scór Sinsir (17th February in Saval) – Set Dancers(Ursula Quinn, Francis Quinn, Joeleen Morgan, Wayne Farrell, Janine Branagan, Niall Quinn, Wendy Branagan, Jayme Farrell) retained their title, Ceili Dancers(Janine Branagan, Ellen Murphy, Niamh Canning, Lisa Gribben, Caroline McGreevy, Joeleen Morgan, Ursula Quinn, Wendy Branagan) won for first time in many years as did the Instrumental Musicians (Stephen & Sean Murray with Paul Kelly) – The Musicians and Set Dancers won their respective County titles
  • Club organises first ever ‘Bunny Hunt’ for younger children and their families at Easter
    Club hosts Community Sports Day during Boley Fair
  • First ever Clonduff Panto – ‘Cinderalla Clonduff Style’ – Resounding Success!

Development

Hurling

  • Clonduff Hurlers belatedly (Jan 2013) declared Div 2 League Champions for 2012
  • Senior Team attends annual St Jude’s Junior Sevens
  • U16 Hurlers complete B Championship and Div 2 League Double

Football

  • Clonduff host Football Blitz and evening of Entertainment for San Francisco Feile Team and their families ahead of their first ever Feile Final appearance
  • U14 boys reach South Down Final – beaten by All Ireland Feile Champions Burren
  • U12 boys win Dromintine Tournament Shield
  • U10 boys win Moy Tournament. Charlie Brown is ‘A’ team Player of the Tournament and OisinLogan is ‘B’ team Player of the Tournament
  • Thirds Footballers win Felix Darby Cup

Handball

  • As in previous years Shane Milligan (aged 16) collected Clonduff’s first County title of theyear – U17 Handball title – Shane’s 5th-in-a-row age titles (from U13 up)
  • Sean McNally, Colin Shields, Paul Shields, Conor Brown retained County team title
  • Colin Shields won Down Intermediate title
  • Colin Shields and Eddie Clancy won Down Intermediate Doubles title
  • Sean McNally won County and Ulster B Golden Masters Singles on (Saturday 16th February)and All Ireland Golden Masters (June)

Camogie

  • Down Camogie Awards for 2012 (27th January 2013) – Kitty Fegan – Volunteer of the Year Award, Eileen Hamill – Brigid Maginn Services to Sport Award; Clare Magilligan, Elizabeth Wilson & Jenna Boden received Ulster Minor Championship Medals
  • Four Clonduff girls on Down Minor team that won All Ireland B Shield Final – Jenna Boden, Clare McGilligan, Elizabeth Wilson, Aoife Brown
  • Clonduff team wins first ever team event in Down Poc Fada at Downpatrick Racecourse – Kitty Fegan, Orla Maginn and Ursula Quinn
  • Petrina Lively placed 3rd in All Ireland Ball Wall Skills Event at Kilmacud Sevens
  • Fionnuala Carr and Clare McGilligan selected at Down Camogie Players of the Year at Senior and U16 grades respectively
  • Ursula Quinn selected as Ulster Administrator of the Year after stepping down as DownCamogie Secretary after eight years; subsequently appointed Down Treasurer at EGM

Ladies Football

  • Clonduff’s Ryan McShane and Mark Copeland Trainers of Down Seniors who reached All Ireland Final
  • Clonduff Youth Mentors organise trip to All Ireland Ladies Finals for 40 youngsters
  • John Anthony Gribben elected Vice Chairperson of Ladies County Board (November)

Higher Educations

  • Southern Regional College (SRC) won HE Div 3 Championship (23rd Feb) – jointly managed by Mark Copeland with Niall Tumilty, Aaron Sherry both playing – Rory McGreevy was sub. They collected the League title a couple of months earlier
  • Paul McPolin on UUJ team that won Ryan Cup in December
