MINOR LGFA B CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Castlewellan 3-5 Clonduff 1-4
It may not have been the result we wanted in Burren today but we are very proud of the effort made by the girls today. Some quality football was played but more impressive than that, was the determination the girls had in the second half and the way they pushed on right to the final whistle. They played with pride in the jersey and we are proud of the performance they put in!

We are looking forward to having quite a number of the Minor girls today join the senior squad next year. They are more than capable and will push for places on the first 15 – Wherever you are or whatever your path please keep playing our sports!

Joint Captains Ellen and Una accepted the medals on behalf of the team.
Player of the Match was announced as the Clonduff full back Laura Close who had an immense game and fully deserved the recognition.
It was then back to the club for the customary post match meal with a few short speeches and lots of thanks all around. On behalf of the Club Anita Brannigan (Secretary) thanked the girls and management for the effort and spoke to the girls about moving on to the Senior grade next year. Niall Rafferty (head of LGFA sub committee) and team manager Damien Henning also spoke to the girls and commended them on their achievement in reaching the County Final.
