Despite losing narrowly in the Plate final to a very good Leitrim team, Clonduff U12s can hold their heads high after an excellent display of footballing skills and commitment by all the team. A long day (8 hours in total) saw wins against Carrickcruppen, St Enda’s (Antrim) and Ballybay (Monaghan) in the group stages to set up a quarter final game against St Marys (Louth) and the host club, Mitchels, in the semi’s. The entire squad were fantastic, with many other teams commenting on the positive, composed football that was played. Special mention, however, goes to Thomas O’Hare in goals, who pulled off some outstanding saves. Many thanks to the parents who also endured the long day and congratulations to Mitchels for hosting a tournament with 40 teams.
