Between 50 and 60 people turned out on Thursday 10th February 2011 to support the launch of the new ‘Hillbilli Ramblers’ which is one of the activities organised as part of the GAA’s Social Initiative. A committee was set up to formally register the club and the aim is to walk on the beautiful Mourne Mountains every second and fourth Sunday of the month setting out early in the morning.
Official Registration is in the Clonduff Clubrooms on Wednesday 9th March (8.30/9 pm)
First Walk (gentle 2-hour stroll) is on Sunday 13th March – details will be given at registration
After the first walk, walkers can choose to stay with the gentle group or can progress to a more active group – an experienced leader will accompany each group. Alternatively, if for some reason 2 or 3 people cannot make the designated day they can arrange to walk (in a small group) at a time convenient to themselves.
