SEAN ÓG IS U13 SCHOOLS HANDBALL 2022

Sean Óg Cowan of St Patrick’s Primary School, Ballymaghery, Hilltown won a brilliant Ulster U13 Handball title in Gort na Mona GAC Belfast on Tuesday 29th March seeing off the challenge of schools champions from Antrim (QF), Cavan (SF) and Tyrone in the final which went to a nail-biting tie break.  He will now go forward to represent Ulster in a Festival of National Handball on Saturday 2nd April in Kingscourt Cavan where he will take on the rest of Ireland. What a proud moment for this young lad, his family, school, club, county and province!

On Wednesday evening 16th March the handballers from St Patrick’s had taken part in the Cumann na mBunscol handball final in Saval against neighbouring schools of Mayobridge and Saval. There were 3 Clonduff boys competing in the u13 competition and one in the u11. The boys all played well and the standard of handball was very impressive from all the schools .

A huge congratulations to Sean Óg and also to James Morgan, Daithi Barber and Oisin McConville who all played supremely well in the Down Finals. Special thanks to Sean Cowan for all his hard work coaching the lads and this was very evident last night in their performances.
