The first event of ‘ The Gathering – Hilltown Storytelling Festival’ took place in Clonduff Clubrooms on Thursday evening with a Set Dancing Workshop, facilitated by the one and only Joe Farrell, for Children and Families – there was a fabulous turnout with current and former dancers taking to the floor with the next generation! Great sight to behold!
U12 All Ireland Set Dancing Champion Roisin Greaney gave an exhibition of Séan Nós Dancing during the Set Dancing Workshop
Midway through the session the attendees were treated to an exhibition of Séan Nós dancing by All Ireland U12 Champion Roisin Greaney from Mayo who was accompanied by her parents Joe and Regina – Joe is involved in the Storytelling festival and will also be delivering a Hurling/Camogie training session as Gaeilge on Saturday morning at the club.
As a direct result of this workshop, Joe will be commencing Set Dancing Classes in the Club for Children and Families from 7th March! Everybody welcome!
