SO NEAR AND YET SO FAR FOR CLONDUFF U20s

JOE DONNAN U20 FINAL
Loughinisland 1-13 Clonduff 2-9

It just wasn’t Clonduff’s day in the shocking conditions on Sunday morning. Clonduff had the elements at their backs in the first half but they were behind with 20 mins played. They sparked into life in the last 10 mins and scored 2 goals to leave the half time score 2-6 to 1-4.

At the turnaround they had a man black-carded and the wind and rain had intensified. The going was tough but the lads in yella held on to the lead until the dying minutes – The Blues levelled but Clonduff once more took the lead only to concede a close in free which was duly converted – this was in the 8th minute of added time and the Blues collected the kick out and made no mistake to claim the title.

The lads were devastated but they had left it all on the pitch! Thanks lads and management for shortening the Winter for us. Best wishes with your playing careers – you have the ability and skills to make your presence felt in the Senior ranks next year and for many years beyond.
