The South Down Scór Sinsir 2014 Ballad Group Champions – Agnes Morris, Colleen Walls, Caroline Carvill, Martina Cunningham & Paul Kelly
It was a night of mixed fortunes for Clonduff acts in the South Down Finals on Sunday evening (9th February) in St Mark’s High School Warrenpoint. The Ballad Group was simply outstanding and easily secured the title; the Instrumental Music group was also outstanding and there was great disappointment when they were adjudged runners-up but this position gives them the chance of defending their county title which they captured last year. Eileen told her story beautifully (Recitation/Storytelling) and Colleen sang like a linnet but these were the two most competitive competitions of the evening but a place in the County Final was always going to be at a premium and it didn’t happen this year! The Quiz team finished just outside the medals in the new format Table Quiz but they will be back in action in the stand-alone County Final in Clonduff Clubrooms on Sunday 2nd March commencing 6pm.
