ST COLMAN’S RETAIN HOGAN CUP 2011

Congratulations to St Colman’s College on retaining the Hogan Cup for the first time in their history! They defeated championship leaders, St Jarlath’s Tuam by a single point in Croke Park on Saturday 9th April 2011. They are trained and managed by Clonduff club man Cathal Murray, assisted by Declan Mussen (born in Kilcoo but with Hilltown roots). Clonduff young players also played a big part – Tony McGreevy at corner forward, Ruairi Lively at corner back with Henry Brown and Niall Tumilty members of the panel. There were three Kilcoo boys on the team – Ryan and Jerome Johnston and Daryl Branagan – all with Clonduff roots too! Well done everybody and lets go for three in a row next year!
The Clonduff boys on the 2011 panel (l to r) Henry Brown, Ruairi Lively, Niall Tumilty and Tony McGreevy. Ruairi and Tony were also on the winning 2010 team.
