ST COLMAN’S WIN DALTON CUP 2012

The Violet Hill boys came from nine points down to defeat Omagh CBS by 3-8 to 1-10 and so lift the trophy for the first time since 1997 – the last time they won it, current manager Ronan McMahon was a member of the team! St Colman’s played against a strong breeze in the first half, in Pairc Tír na nÓg, Moy, Co Tyrone on Friday 4th May. They trailed 0-7 to 0-1 at half time – a St Colman’s penalty came off the upright and another goal attempt also hit the upright. They fell further behind when Omagh hit the net right at the re-start but responded in great style holding Omagh to just a further three points whilst adding on 2-7 to secure the title by four points.
