Many congratulations to St Mark’s Year 9 Boys (U14) on winning the Ennis Cup beating Dean Maguire Carrickmore 6-10 to 2-11 in Pairc Thir na nÓg, Portadown on Tuesday 31st May 2022, exactly one week after the girls won the equivalent in Ladies Football.
St Mark’s didn’t really get into the game in the first half and were 6 points down at half time. They made a dramatic comeback in the second half to level the game and take it to extra time. This is where the fitness of the Warrenpoint side came to the fore – in the first period of extra time they went 6 points up and by the end of the second period they had opened up an 11 point gap to lift the Ennis Cup.
