STRICTLY FOR KENYA 2010

The Canal Court Miller Suite was packed to capacity to see ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ organised by Clonduff’s Paul McShane and Burren’s Sean O’Hare. Clonduff’s Frankie Quinn and Eliza Downey (Down Ladies Football Captain 2009) hosted the event.
Eight Couples participated in the show:
1. Aisling Pyers (Annaclone) & Conal McGovern (Burren)
2. Cathal Maginn (Clonduff) & Catherine McGovern (Burren)
3. Aiobheann Downey (Clonduff) & Eoin McCartan (Burren)
4. Grainne McKernan (Burren) & Danny Hughes (Saval)
5. Sheenagh McConville (Clonduff) & Eamon Toner (Burren)
6. Mairead Trainor (Burren) & Connor Toner (Burren)
7. Niamh Canavan (Saval) & Kevin McKernan (Burren)
8. Jacqueline O’Neill (Glassdrumman) & Dan McCartan (Burren)
Each couple performed 3 dances, a group dance, salsa dance and then a free-style dance. Judges on the night included Celebrity Bainisteoir Derek Davies, dance teacher Catherine Murphy and Five FM host Simon Burke. Everyone in the audience got a vote with their ticket, and then they had the opportunity to purchase additional votes.
The competition was won by Dirty Dancing Couple ‘Jacqueline O’Neill & Dan McCartan, With Sheenagh McConville & Eamon Toner being placed runners up, followed by Aoibheann Downey and Eoin McCartan. The night was a great success with alot of money being raised for the Kenya Appeal 2010, and of course the Clonduff folk turned out in force to support the Clonduff Dancer’s. Well Done to all to involved!!!
