Friday 27th August 2021 brought to a close a wonderful, busy 8-week schedule of activities in Clonduff Park. Children and young people got to experience the four field sports of Gaelic Games as well as Rounders and Handball. In the Multisport Camps, Basketball was a major hit along with a large variety of other sports, games and activities such as Lego Camp, a major hit with kids of all ages and indeed their parents; and the Arts & Crafts as Gaeilge provided another non-sporting activity.
Many thanks to the, mainly young, coaches who turned out week after week to facilitate the camps. The too got a lot of experiences and fun and often the craic was mighty!
Generally the weather was favourable with some rain, but that didn’t dampen spirits. This final week has been exceptional – around 150 young people attended the final week of freedom before schools, colleges Unis return. The Friday session ended with participants and coaches being treated to a Timoneys Ice Cream.
The summer programme will end on Sunday 29th August with competition for the Lá na gClub (The Club Day) Shield. (See that flyer!) and live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon organised by the Scór/Cultural group. Weather to remain very good!
