A massive well done to all our young people who participated in the Co Scór na nÓg Finals in St Malachy’s High School on Sunday evening 25th November. The standard was amazingly high and very close – unfortunately there can only be one winner and those who missed out did so by the smallest of margins! At the end of the evening when the results were announced Clonduff had clinched three titles and will now represent Down in the Ulster Semi Final in Silverbridge on Saturday 1st December.
Solo Singer Aoife Trainor with her rendition of ‘Slán Abhaile’, Brian McGreevy’s performance of ‘The Present’ and the Young Set Dancers put on the performances of their lives to lift those titles and that’s what was needed to win over the adjudicators. Despite a great performance from our Ballad Group they were pipped at the post. The Instrumental Musicians regrouped after an instrument malfunction and gave a fabulous performance as indeed did our other performers – Jack McGreevy who was up against his brother in the Recitation and the ‘wee’ Set Dancing Team.
