Clonduff U10s (left) – the most photographed team in the club in 2009 – took part in the An Riocht Blitz Tournament of 30 teams on Saturday. Clonduff were allowed the privilege of entering two teams in the 11-a-side tournament and with a panel of 29 children this ensured plenty of game time for all. Clonduff B played in a tough group playing Burren A, Michael Davitts Dromiskin, Ardglass and Longstone, making a decent fist of every game, and beating Longstone on the way. They bowed out in the Quarter Final of the Plate to An Riocht.
Clonduff A were in a group with Ballymartin, Teconnaught, Burren, Aughlisnafin and Clann Eireann – they won all their games except against Clann Eireann to whom they lost by two points. They reached the Cup play offs and went on to beat St Brigid’s Downpatrick and Bryansford but once again they met the very talented Clann Eireann in the final who once again overcame The Yellas.
