U14 FOOTBALLERS ARE ALL COUNTY SHIELD WINNERS 2014

Congratulations to the under 14s Footballers on winning the All County Championship Shield. This was a great way for some of the boys to end their U14 career.
Clonduff started well and controlled the game but there was a bad injury to Noel Grant early in the game, we wish him all the best. (Inset – Noel with mentor Aidan Brown on his way from Daisy Hill Hospital Newry to RVH Belfast where he underwent surgery – He was discharged on Sunday afternoon). His replacement Patrick Gribben, who incidentally was playing his first ever competitive game, played very well and should be very proud. Leading by 5pts at half time Clonduff extended their lead to seven points before being pegged back. However a superb ball from Stephen McConville to Niall O’Hare, ended in the back of the net, to put the game beyond Castlewellan. Some great individual performances – Ryan McCaul at wing back, midfield duo of Stephen and Caolan, and Paudie Harper up front stood out, but overall it was a good performance from everyone and one to be proud of. Final Score Clonduff 3-8 Castlewellan 3-4
