Clonduff 6-8 Saval 6-7
Well done to the players and mentors who pulled off a great win in Pairc Chluain Daimh (Clonduff Park) early Sunday afternoon 22nd September 2024. There was quite a breeze blowing down the back field and Clonduff played with it in the first half but only led by a couple of points at half time. Saval, as the League winners, had to come from behind with a late goal to draw the game.
In extra time, Saval played with the breeze behind them in the first half and scored 3 points holding Clonduff scoreless. Clonduff used the breeze to great effect in the second half and scored 1-1 whilst holding the visitors scoreless.
It was an exciting game of football with the breeze just being a telling factor in extra time. The skills and tenacity of both teams were a joy to behold! Well done everybody! It was some turnaround for the Clonduff girls compared to their league performances agains the same opposition!
