U8 GO GAMES 2011

Clonduff Under 8 footballers got their Go Games season off to a flying start at Ballymartin on Saturday 30th April.Fielding two teams ensured full involvement of all players and both teams won all five games! All children played in different positions throughout the event enabling valuable experience across the field.
Team 1 had a strong presence in mid-field with Shane Close and Patrick Cowan dominating whilst up front Aaron Gribben pulled all the strings
ably assisted by Shea Morgan. Shoring up a formidable defence were Luke Fitzpatrick and Will Kelly along with new comer Oisin Logan showing great promise. Best in goals went to Conor Grant who also put in a good effort out in the field.
Team 2 settled into the new format quickly with Max Dursley, Joey O’Hare and Dan Rafferty finding their scoring boots from the start. Ronan Matthews had a safe pair of hands when playing in goals and our trio of female defenders Abbie Fitzpatrick, Rachael Norris and Emir McAleavey showed no fear. Donnagha Burns showed lots of commitment in all the positions he played. Highlight of the day has to go to the new midfield partnership of Aaron Norris and Callum Donnan. At times it seemed as if they were playing together for years with some fine moves and scores from both players.
The mentors wish to thank the parents for their support and to Ballymartin GAC for a most enjoyable well organised day. In the two photos of the U8s (Top) back row Shane Close, Patrick Cowan, Aaron Gribben, Connor Grant; front row Shea Morgan, Oisin Logan, Luke Fitzpatrick, Will Kelly.
